Test Project Canterbury

Canterbury

A complete transformation of a characterful Victorian cottage in the heart of Canterbury. Our clients came to us with a tired, compartmentalised home that no longer suited modern family life — and a wish to honour the property’s period charm while opening it up to light and warmth.

We reimagined the ground floor as a series of connected, flowing spaces. The original kitchen was relocated and rebuilt as a generous open-plan room with bespoke cabinetry, a large central island and reclaimed oak flooring throughout. Careful attention was paid to preserving and restoring original features — cornicing, fireplaces and sash windows — while introducing contemporary comfort.

Upstairs, the principal bedroom was given a calm, considered palette of soft greens and warm neutrals, complemented by a new en-suite finished in marble and aged brass. Every material was chosen to feel timeless and tactile, building a home that will age gracefully.

The result is a home that feels both rooted in its history and entirely suited to the way the family lives today — relaxed, elegant and full of natural light.
